Photoshop in relation to Ethical Design.

Photoshop is a software application, developed and published by Adobe Inc., for image editing and photo retouching. People are using it to create and also to edit images and artworks. There are multiple versions of Photoshop such as Photoshop Elements, Photoshop Lightroom, Photoshop CC and Photoshop Express.

In these days, the ethic design has several meanings. One of them could be referring to the benefits to the public. Due to the existence of it, people can have an opinion about everything that was designed.

I consider it to be an ethical art because by using photoshop programmes, it can help describe a person or behaviour as right in the moral sense, honest/ truthful.

Retouching itself isn’t necessarily bad. It can be used used to fix things like erasing a cord that ends up in the shot or flyaway hairs.

In some cases, it could be unethical, when a picture shows or expresses something unreal. For instance, pictures from fashion magazines. Some of them are photoshopped and often illustrate faces and bodies, which theoretically are perfect, but in a matter speaking, they encourage young girls, indirectly, to feel bad and to blame themselves about how they truly look in the mirror.

In other words, if we use the editing software to embellish a picture by eliminating or even changing the background, the light, the colours and many others, we can't say anymore that it's still emphasis ethic. We distort the truth by showing the world unreal things and make them consider that they are real.

The questions are:

When is too far and when is too much?
Do you think that artists or regular people will still be able to live without using this software after they are used to applying edit to everything?
